Künstlerhaus Stuttgart presents Berlin based artist Viron Erol Vert with new productions supported by Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn during its fall program. Through its title, the exhibition refers to the Ottoman court chronicles (vakanüvis), which are the official accounts of the imperial history recorded by the sultan's court chronicler. Relating this metaphor with the methodological aspects of Vert's practice and its narrative focus on the Mediterranean history, the exhibition creates a link to the relationship between history writing and artistic production. Not only Vert's artistic interests in the system of belief, cultural identity, and linguistic experience. "Viron Erol Vert works as a child of alchemist. He collects curative imagery, fascinating stories, and characters that inspired him and then compile them freely in the light of his own imagination. Some visual codes are used on strategic designs, repeated as a template to create a new mise en scene. He sincerely believes in his own tales, just like every good storyteller should. In fact, he keeps a record of his own epoch, just like a vakanüvis (court historian or chronicler). " Just like every good storyteller shoulderstand. Der Chronist / Chronicler / Vakanüvis

With the support of Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn, the Künstlerhaus Stuttgart presents the first institutional solo exhibition of the Berlin artist Viron Erol Vert with new productions. Through its title, the exhibition refers to the "Ottoman court chronicles" (vakanüvis), the official records of imperial history by the court chroniclers of the sultan. Through this metaphor in connection with methodological aspects of Verts artistic practice and its narrative focus on the Mediterranean history, the exhibition creates a cross-link between historiography and artistic production. Not only Verts artistic interest in belief systems, His personal history plays a key role in shaping his research process ....... "Viron Erol Vert works like an alchemist. He collects illustrations, exciting stories and characters that have inspired him and puts them together in the light of his own imagination. He uses his visual codes, which he applies through strategic designs, creating new templates that he re-uses to create a new backdrop. Like any good storyteller, he believes in his own stories. One could almost say he documents his own epoch as a Vakanüvis (the chronicler or court historian). " Exciting stories and characters thathave inspired him and puts them back together in the light of his own imagination. He uses his visual codes, Which he Applies through strategic designs, creating new templates did he re-uses to create a new backdrop.
